Feel Of Indianess

Long time back I was taking to one of my friend about life in US. During the normal chat she suddenly mentioned about something normally abnormal.She erupted, You must be missing feel of Indianess there. The question just struck me as an obvious. May be I was missing something which I was trying to figure out or just her certain perspective did the trick. Not sure what but since the day I was trying to figure out something which could answer specifically to me what this feel of Indianess is all about if there is really something or this is just a social sympathetic glitch which we use with anyone living abroad. Why is this a integral part of our life.
"Feel Of Indianess".

The first obvious point came in my mind comprising this feeling is our own dear family, relatives and friends. This doesn’t suit when we take a little bigger sample. Most of Indians are living here with their family and they developed their own friend circle and they are more connected with them then any of us use to being in India. Still they miss something but what?

Second point could be Freedom of being in our own country. This argument also hold little ground as most of us practice more freedom being in US then our own country. US have more efficient law and order machinery and human rights which others really respect.

Most of us refute this saying we face discrimination being an alien but let’s face it we have more discrimination in India based of region, cast and even at social stature. We are one of most discrimination friendly society in this world so we really don’t have any point complaining about it.

Another point in my case which I miss more is food. I really don't have food security if I talk in terms of UN but drilling down into this also make me feel that we have most mixed cultural society in US so you can find your favorite taste within 10 mile radius irrespective of what country you belong.

What is going on? I can't find a single point but still I know I am missing something which I like to say “Feel of Indianess”. Let’s review above points once again.

OK so we have friends, family but still we have less interference in their life.Each and everyone have their set of beliefs and we have little power to boss around them. I still remember one incident when parents were explaining their 12 year old son why he should not chase girls and the boy was little convinced and they were so helpless :) Funny example but the point I was trying to make is that we miss a sense to make a difference in someones life or in short sense of guiding someones destiny.

Second point was freedom. So we have freedom act but under big surveillance. From road to home our each activity monitored, tracked and logged. If you make a mistake it get attached to your life forever. In short, point I am making here is, you have freedom but you have little freedom to shift rules to suit your freedom. As an Indian we miss this very much.

Third point was discrimination. It would not be too much if I say Indian society is based discrimination. From morning to night we do discrimination and we face discrimination in various forms. The issue in US is if anywhere it happen we are always at receiving end. So here we miss our upper hand to practice discrimination and that gives us little sense of proud which required for any human being and as an Indian, funny but true, most of this we derive from discrimination.

As per fourth point is concerned we miss lot of chances to crib as we belong to society having less logistics. Cribbing is a part of our culture and we really love to practice it. Take it road, water, electricity, pollution where we crib majority of part in India are just fine here. Now what? :)

Apart from that there are some other things which we miss to some extent are haggling ( Organized retail is everywhere in US), Cheap road side food ( FDA rating is culprit in US),Indian railway journey (Nothing comparable to that), corner paan shop (very useful to find addresses).

I am missing an important element here in this feeling and that element is Parents. Most of us miss our parents a lot and who don’t, really don’t miss much Feel of Indianess..

Some of above points may sound belligerent and expose dark side of us but a sum of all of those really constitute feel of Indians and make more sense to an Indian than anyone else.

Intelligence (Humans Vs Machines)

I suppose A.I. is the one of the best known acronym among children. Since my childhood days this word has been fanaticized me and inspired to look for more. What would the world be look like without intelligent machines? What would happen if humans become completely dependent on machines? and the most important question which inspired many sci-fi movies and made billions of $ and still counting is "What would happen if machine surpassed humans in intelligence.

Let's talk about intelligence first. As per me intelligence derived from majorly its three main constituents. first is more accurate past experience information database which provide you inputs to make a decision. Second is go through that database quickly to get related information which is required to make a decision, we call it response time and the third is ability to process the related information in current context to reach at correct decision.

If you even have some elementary knowledge of our modern age systems humans can't beat machines in first point. Machines can store information related to entire human race without major hassle. So now comes the second part where humans are giving some fight to them but with each passing day with the help of faster processing units and better algorithms machine are getting very effective in this area. Due to these developments even in today's world there are very few brains which can take on machines in this context.

Third point was making decisions. Now this part is where A.I. mainly comes into picture. How effectively you can fit information into current context to make a decision is key to human race which put them at advantage. With the inventions of nanobots, machines which can find sockets to recharge themselves and also robots which can kill someone anonymously machines are gaining grounds in this area very rapidly. With the inventions of viruses which can not be destroyed and nonobots which can replicates themselves, human race is at stake. So is this the time when fictitious concept of "Rise of machines " coming true?

If your answer is yes then start preparing yourself.

वो हर बात पर बेमतलब से परदे,
वो हर बात को न जाने क्यों मुझसे छुपाना,
तू अब भी मुझे कुछ बताती नहीं है,
पर तेरी बाते अब याद आती नहीं है|

वो अनचाही बातो के तेरे पुलिंदे,
वो फिर उनको सुलझा कर मुझको समझाना,
उलझा न जाने कब वो बातो का बाना,
तुम सच कहती थी की बातो को बोझ न बनाना,
तेरी उलझी बाते मुझसे अब भी सुलझ पाती नहीं है,
पर अब वो तेरी बाते याद आती नहीं है|

"Aliens" I Have an Idea

As soon as NASA released a photograph showing a murky shadow / rock/ living creature/ just a cloud of dust, we all are again engaged in our old favorite topic existence of life apart from our planet or so called existence of Aliens. I am quite fascinated with this concept just like Hollywood. Sometimes this makes me much tense because if I trace back, I remember many creatures whose behavior is quite unseasoned to me and what would happen if some more will add to it if Mr. NASA become successful in Alien search. Whatever the consequences, I find Alien concept really cool but Mr. NASA is deceiving me from a long time. What to do?
I got an idea … why not consider them (idiosyncratic creatures around me) as Alien and start my thesis on them instead of digging on the inputs provided by someone else which I can’t verify or simply can’t understand at all. Going forward with this thought, I started to prepare a list of living creatures belong to my social lab whose behavior staggered me a lot and could easily qualify for my Alien list.
So as you can see that now I have pointed out some Aliens for research so I am in better position then Mr. NASA. You can also try this and if you like the concept, you can write me back saying “What an Idea”.
Keep looking this space to get my thesis findings if their would be any :) and more interesting/irritating ideas like this :)

A Dinner Contention

Rashmi: Call her. You cant live without her, she is already your life..
Karan: Why to bother buddy there are many pretty cheeks around, there is nothing called part of life .. When one bus gone it is a better idea to catch another bus instead of running behind the same.
Rashmi: That is one of the differences between Bus and human. If you miss one bus there is a possibility to find another bus of similar kind and of similar route but if you miss one person you can never find a person similar.
Karan: But no one is clear before about what kind of person he or she want to be with.. so why there is a compulsion to go for same person. You might find a better person if you look around. In life you don’t need to stick to a person. Life should be person independent, if you want to enjoy it.
Rashmi: Our life is always a person centric life. If you change people related to you so frequently very soon you find yourself alone. A relationship requires effort and time. It must be tested in difficult circumstances and if after such a effort you get one nice mate then you should respect her more then anything and shouldn’t let her go like this.
Karan: Life is not too short man, you can still go ahead to put more effort. Effort always pays off. Intelligent person knows that more efforts always lead you towards better results. If you are deprived by something in you life, then go ahead… put more effort and get. It’s simple and straight.
Rashmi: Emotions are not more not less and you can’t always force someone to be a part of ur life. Sometime you can not do anything more then just wait and pray. Efforts can maintain a relationship but effort can’t establish a new relationship. Love is not manipulation its feeling and you can’t manipulate your feelings. If you are manipulating your feeling then you are not deceiving anyone else but yourself. It’s simple and straight but you need to listen your heart.
