Most Persistent Human Emotion

The title must have created some curiosity in you so let me describe this a little more. Here we are going to talk about one of the most persistent and widely misinterpreted human emotion. This emotion was with us from the history of evolution most of our spiritual books talk about it. Take a glimpse of it in Ramayana when Ram showcased it killing Raavan or feel it in Mahabharata conflict. Yes you guessed it right.
it is "Revenge".

As a human we care most about it. Most of us give our self a reason to take beauty off from others life using this simple reason, revenge. We love it we enjoy it we celebrate it even going further we teach it and justify it.

Most of world's conflict are justifiable based on this simple human emotion. Take examples of some most flared up conflicts of today's world.

•Israel justifies bombing Palestine because they perform terrorist activities against them vs. Palestine justifies sending suicidal bombers to Israel because they bomb them.

•In our own country somebody took revenge and burned many people alive and for the same reason some other people took revenge and massacred thousands of people and after than various parts of India bombed and claiming organizations justified it because of massacre happened on them.

•Most talked about calamity caused by this emotion in recent time was collapse of WTC and aftermath of it killing many thousands of people. Still many countries are involved counterattacking each other encircling same emotion.

The more we talk about it more examples we find. You would hear less stories about somebody sacrificed his or her whole life for some cause other than this. Here we can argue that love can counter it and in many cases you are right but here is the catch. In all cases revenge origination point is love be it love for country, love for religion, love for family, friend anything but you will hardly find any case where revenge originates love. So who is going to persist? Answer is clear!!

It is everywhere, It is spread throughout our lives we want to get away with it but somehow also embrace it. There is no way out. It was there before our existence, It will remain all along our life and it will sustain even after we perish.

As title suggests, it is truly most persistent human emotion.

Examples are good but I am not agree with you because there are exaples which talk about the persistence of forgiveness in our lives. Ram killed Ravaana not for revenge but he wanted to let others know that everyone has to die in this world though they blessed for longer age. Mahabharat has done because Krishna wanted to let others know that Karma is more important inspite of all powers and Kingdom somebody have. You are missing main crunch of so called revenge stories. Revenge originated by love. But love persist if there is forgiveness behind it. Revenge will not allow you to live your life with or for your love either its a country, religion, people, family, friends. But forgiveness will give you chance to have your life and love together. So have big heart which can forget and forgive than the smaller one which promotes revenge. Keep writing. :)
